Anna Poletti is Associate Professor of English Language and Culture at Utrecht University. Her research focus is contemporary forms of life narrative, with a particular interest in youth cultures, ephemera (both digital and analogue) and the role of mediation and materiality in autobiography. Poletti draws on feminist and queer theories in her work. In 2008 she published her first book, Intimate Ephemera: Reading Young Lives in Australian Zine Culture, about the importance of autobiography. A few years later, she released an extensive study about youth culture titled Life Narratives and Youth Culture: Representation, Agency and Participation (2016).
