Annet Huizing (1960) writes fiction and non-fiction for children. She lives on a houseboat in the district of Lombok in Utrecht. She has run her own writing agency since 1997. In 2014, Lemniscaat publishing house released her debut young adult novel Hoe ik per ongeluk een boek schreef (How I Wrote A Book by Accident), which was awarded a Zilveren Griffel (Silver Stylus). The book has been translated into German, French, Slovenian and Korean. A Turkish and Russian translation are in the pipeline. De zweetvoetenman (The Sweaty Feet Man) was published in September 2017. For this non-fiction book (for all ages), she immersed herself in the world of law. Together with illustrator Margot Westermann, she brought the rule of law to life in exciting, moving and funny true stories. Annet Huizing will be presenting a children’s lecture during the Library for kid’s programme.
