Author and journalist Hans Bouman (1955) specialises in travel, culture and literature. He writes and has written for a range of daily and weekly magazines, including the VPRO Gids, HP/De Tijdand Vrij Nederland. Since 1985, Bouman has also been a regular contributor to De Volkskrantas a reviewer of English literature and he has penned many travelogues for the same newspaper. Over the last ten years, Bouman has published a variety of books for both children and adults. He has also translated work by Paul Theroux, J.G. Ballard and Paul Bailey. Alongside his work as a writer and journalist, he also often interviews authors on stage. He will be interviewing the British author Julian Barnes at the ILFU.
