An ambassador for literary reading is how Lidewijde Paris (1962) can be described nowadays. After 25 years in the book industry, as a book seller, interviewer, editor and publisher, she set up The Embassy of Reading in 2016. She tries to inspire readers to read literary texts using a variety of different publications and workshops. Her books Hoe lees ik? (How Do I Read?) (Meulenhoff, 2018) and Hoe lees ik korte verhalen? (How Do I Read Short Stories?) (Meulenhoff, 2018) are handy tools. At the ILFU, Lidewijde Paris will be presenting the Anna Karenina Gala Night – an evening packed with music, performance and exceptional women.
