Duizend vaders (Thousand Fathers) (De Bezige Bij) is the coming-of-age story about a young girl who tries to keep her head above water in a hostile environment. The review in the Noord-Hollands Dagblad describes the book as “surprising, confusing and intriguing. A book of un-Dutch allure.” Duizend vaders has been nominated for this year’s Best Book for Young People, which will be awarded during the ILFU. Nhung Dam is also an ambassador for the Book Week for Young People this year and wrote the gift collection 3PAK with Raoul de Jong and Tim Hofman.
