Nora Fischer (1987) released her first album HUSH on the renowned classical label Deutsche Grammmophon. But HUSH is more than a classical music album. The mezzo-soprano doesn’t want to be tied to one genre: “I find everything interesting, definitely things that are a bit strange,” she said in Trouw. Accompanied by Marnix Dorrestein on the electric guitar, Fischer has produced a modern interpretation of pieces by Vivaldi, Purcell, Monteverdi and many more. “Armed with only two voices and an electric guitar, we want to shine a new light on these songs and make a wider audience aware of the pure beauty and timelessness of this music that was written four hundred years ago,” said the singer. She will be giving a preview of her new album at the ILFU Book Parade.
