The British military historian Sir Antony Beevor (1946) has been writing about the Second World War for decades to great acclaim. He is the author of many books including the international best-sellers Stalingrad, Berlin: The Downfall 1945and The Battle for Spain: The Spanish Civil War 1936-1939and Crete 1941-1945. He has sold millions of copies of his books across the world. The former soldier is a masterful storyteller and knows how to bring well-known historical events to life. During the ILFU, Beevor will be introducing his latest book Arnhem: The Battle for the Bridges, 1944. It tells the story of one dramatic battle that also provides a picture of an explosive and war-hungry Europe.
