Writer, philosopher and television programme maker Stine Jensen (1972) studied Literary Studies and Philosophy in Groningen. After she completed her degree, Jensen received her doctorate from the University of Maastricht, after which her thesis Waarom vrouwen van apen houden (Why Women Love Apes) was published (Prometheus, 2002). Jensen released different books, including Lieve Stine, weet jij het? (Dear Stine, Did You Know?), which was awarded a Zilveren Griffel (Silver Stylus). Her work explores masculinity and femininity, lying, love between Turks and Europeans, growing up in Scandinavia, emotions and identity.
