After completing his Master’s in Editing, Willem Dieleman (1986) travelled throughout Asia and Australia for two and a half years. He learned to enjoy the small things in life on this journey. This shaped his mission: to make the world a happier place by sharing something small – such as a pancake. This mission led him to write the book Pancake Adventures, which was published this year by Ambo|Anthos. Alongside bringing people and cultures together by making pancakes, Dieleman is also the director of the Museum voor Onbedoelde Kunst (Museum of Unintentional Art), which exhibits the very best of unintentional art made by the most controversial non-artists at festivals, including Grasnapolsky. During the ILFU, Willem will be appearing at the Humanities Night, where he will share his story of travelling around a world of heroes and villains as the pancake maker.
